Out of an entire run of prints, there is often a short run of no more than fifty
so that the artist can check that the colours and print quality are satisfactory.
These prints are then signed by the artist and each edition number has the letters
‘AP’ after. These runs are highly sought after due to their uniqueness and limited

The Memphis Belle, piloted by Bob Morgan was the first 8th Airforce bomber to complete
25 combat missions. This was to happen in the Summer of 1943. This painting depicts
an earlier mission, where the aircraft can be seen coming into land at Bassingbourne
airfield, having sustained some tail damage as a result of heavy flack. The exploits
of this brave crew was later made into a full length feature film by Warner Brothers,
featuring Harry Connick Jnr.
