What is an Artists Proof?

Out of an entire run of prints, there is often a short run of no more than fifty so that the artist can check that the colours and print quality are satisfactory. These prints are then signed by the artist and each edition number has the letters ‘AP’ after. These runs are highly sought after due to their uniqueness and limited availability.
